Establishment of Sarawakian Malay community leaders body being mulled

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg attended a dialogue on Friday, which discussed the setting up of the Sarawakian Malay Community Leaders Association.

A spokesman said the dialogue was attended by Sarawakian Malay community leaders, led by Kuching Division Malay Community Leaders Association chairman Pemanca Roshidi Junai.

“Community leaders play a vital role in assisting the government’s administration in ensuring the villages’ development and harmony,” said the spokesman.

Among those present at the session were State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion, Assistant Minister in Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Assistant Minister in Chief Minister’s Department (Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, and Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman.
