Austria hopes to collaborate with Sarawak in green tech, health and digitalisation fields

KUCHING: Austria is hoping to collaborate with Sarawak in the fields of green technology, infrastructure, health and digitalisation.

This was expressed by Austrian Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Michael Postl when paying a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya this morning.

A statement from Chief Minister’s Office said both sides discussed among other things on cooperation and opportunities that could be explored from the economic, educational, tourism and health aspects of development between Sarawak and Austria.

“The discussion was also on potentials of Sarawak in terms of future projects in green technology, infrastructure, health and digitalisation.

“The envoy expressed hope of Austria collaborating with Sarawak in the future in these areas,” added the statement.

Also present at the meeting were Aqua Engineering CEO Ruddolf Edlinger and Embassy of Austria in Malaysia’s Commercial Counsellor Reinhart Zimmermann, as well as Eric Kueh from Chua Hua Sdn Bhd and Friedrich Oberbucher from International Business Advisory.
