CM receives courtesy calls from students, Asian Tour members

KUCHING: Ten students from Kolej Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah Kuching will represent Team Malaysia in the Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad Competition (SIMOC) 2018 to be held on July 7 in Singapore.

The students from Form 2, 3 and 5 accompanied by their teachers yesterday afternoon paid a courtesy on the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex in Petra Jaya.

During the visit, the Chief Minister presented the team with the national and state colours and a sponsorship grant of RM15,000.

The competition is an annual event with participants coming from countries in Asia.

In another courtesy call, Abang Johari received visitors from Asian Tour led by its chief operating officer Cho Minn Thant.

The visit was in conjunction with the ongoing Sarawak Championship which started on Tuesday.

As the official sanctioning body for professional golf in Asia, the Asian Tour leads the development of golf across the region, enhancing the careers of its members while maintaining a commitment to the integrity of the game.

The Asian Tour, through its membership of the International Federation of PGA Tours, is the only recognised pan-Asian professional golf tour in Asia.
